The .14 carat, Natural Benitoite has vivid saturation and excellent clarity with no visible inclusions, and is a sparkling dark-inky-blue color that is known to shift and change with the lighting! Photos are taken under professional lighting and are magnified at 50x zoom to show details that may not be visible to the naked eye. Accenting this rare gemstone are 1.25mm round cut, natural Diamond accents (8 total) that are H color with VS2-SI1 clarity and weigh a combined total of .08 carats. The ring is clearly hallmarked 14K on the inside of the 1.50mm band. When worn, the top of the ring/stone is elevated about 4.50mm from the finger.

Benitoite is a rare gemstone, and for all practical purposes only comes from a single limited deposit in California. It is a relatively new gemstone, and was first discovered in 1907. Benitoite gemstones have a sapphire-blue color, and can have very good transparency and luster. Due to its rarity and lack of availability, Benitoite can be extremely expensive per carat. Therefore, gemstones of Benitoite are almost always very small, rarely exceeding two carats. Benitoite gemstones are strongly fluorescent, and give off a bright light blue color in shortwave ultraviolet light (black light). Benitoite is not a typical gemstone, and is mostly reserved for collectors and connoisseurs of exquisite gemstone. It is most often cut in round or oval cuts, though it is not usually seen in jewelry items. 

**Currently a size 8 ½ but could be sized, free of charge, by my master jeweler so that it is ready to be gifted or worn upon arrival! Most rings can be sized a maximum of 3-4 sizes up or down depending on the style of the ring.
